Ask someone only vaguely familiar with comic books to name the strongest characters in them and a lot of people with give Hulk as one of their answers. Indeed, some people are even confident enough to say that Hulk is the outright strongest character in comic books, period. Their argument is generally that he can be as angry as he needs to be in any given situation, but that simply isn't the case. The Hulk clearly has limits, because he has been both stalemated and outright manhandled on countless occasions. Simply put, the tier that Hulk is on is often mistaken as the pinnacle of comic book characters - but that is very, very wrong. Hulk's strength is around the same level as the likes of Superman, Thor, Juggernaut, Black Adam and various other comic book characters known as "class 100s" (a term that originally meant a character could lift 100 tonnes, but has evolved to simply represent characters around that aforementioned level) and there are beings to whom those characters are like what fleas are to humans. Look at Thanos, then move up to Odin, then move up further to Galactus and you'll see beings considerably stronger than Hulk - and there are beings even more powerful than the devourer of worlds. Simply put; Hulk isn't the strongest there is. Not by a long shot.
