2. His Live Action Portrayal Could Have Been So Different
Prior to Tom Hiddleston being given the iconic part of Loki and completely owning the part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a number of other actors had been considered - or at least heavily rumoured - for the part of the God of Mischief. Josh Hartnett was definitely heavily considered for the part by the team behind the Thor movie and the potential casting was backed by a very proactive fan campaign online. Perhaps more bizarrely, Jim Carrey - who had previously wielded a wacky version of Loki's power in The Mask - was also linked to the role. Both men are talented and would certainly have brought something different to the role, but it's hard to believe they would have made the character anywhere near as popular as Hiddleston did. Moreover, Hiddleston himself originally auditioned for Thor!
