1. His First Comic Has Sold For More Than $222,000
The first ever comic in which Marvel's Thor appeared - 1962's Journey Into Mystery #83 - raised a staggering $222,200 at an auction held by Pedigree Comics in 2012. The comic in question, which was obviously in mint condition (a CGC 9.4 grade copy), was an issue of Journey Into Mystery entitled "The Stone Men From Saturn" and it has since been renamed "Thor" as the popularity of the character has soared. Another slightly more worn copy of the comics, which was created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott, sold earlier for $100,000, but the fact that one sold for almost a quarter of a million dollars is just insane!
