10 Things Everyone Always Forgets About Harley Quinn

6. Squaddie

At one point, Harley Quinn was transferred to the Belle Reve prison in Louisiana. Amanda Waller forced her to become a member of her Suicide Squad. Harley had changed. Her skin was now bleached white instead of grease-painted and her hair was a wild cascade of red, blue, and white-blond.

She almost immediately gravitated to Deadshot who referred to her as “cuckoo for cocoa puffs”, and she was a surprisingly useful Squad member up until she learned the Joker had died. In the fifth issue of the new series, Harley disabled her subcutaneous bomb and broke out of Belle Reve to travel to Gotham to see for herself if the Clown had died.

Once in Gotham, Harley Quinn found that not only was Joker dead but his face had been removed. She allowed herself to be captured by the Gotham City Police Department to retrieve it. The Squad was deployed and Savant tracked Harley to GCPD. The Maid of Mallets left him on an explosive pressure plate and got away before encountering Deadshot. Knocking him out and putting Joker’s face on him, Quinn started screaming at Lawton as if he was the Clown. Playing along, he said that if she loved him, she’d kill Batman. The crazy lady ran to hug him but Floyd shot her in the stomach. Waller had her life saved and put her back on the Squad, despite Deadshot’s protests.
