10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About Daredevil

2. He's Only Ever Lived In Hell's Kitchen

Hell's Kitchen may be where Daredevil was born and bred, but it isn't the only locale the character has called home.

Beginning with Daredevil #87 (Vol. 1), Gerry Conway and Gene Colan decided to send Matt to San Francisco with then girlfriend Natasha Romanoff. The pair shared a place together, and transplanted their crimefighting operation from the East Coast to the West along the way, with Matt and Nat staying in the city for a dozen-or-so issues before their relationship fell apart and Matt came back to New York.

There he remained for a good few decades, until Mark Waid and Chris Samnee uprooted the character all over again and sent him back to San Fran in Daredevil #1 (Vol. 4), with Matt's position in New York having been made untenable thanks to a combination of his identity being made public, and just the city in general bearing too many bad memories for the Man Without Fear to cope with.

Murdock returned to Hell's Kitchen once again at the beginning of Charles Soule and Rob Garney's Daredevil, but there's an argument to be made that San Francisco should be just as synonymous with the character.
