10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About Daredevil

8. The Black Suit Is Better Than The Red One

Daredevil Season 3 was arguably the best of Marvel's Netflix shows, but one thing that was slightly bizarre was the way many fans reacted to the return of the character's black costume. It made sense thematically, with Murdock disillusioned with his faith and the reason why he took up crimefighting in the first place, but was it actually better than the character's iconic red suit? Not by a long shot.

The black costume first appeared in Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.'s The Man Without Fear, a storyline that rebooted Daredevil's origins and one that inspired elements of the show's first season. By the end, however, Matt suits up in the red costume (the character's second in the comics, after the yellow suit), and becomes Daredevil proper.

Designed by Melvin Potter in the show, Matt used it for all of Season 2 and in the second half of The Defenders. It was a great look, modernising the look of the comics with the introduction of armour plating and other materials, but for some reason people just seem to prefer the black outfit, which would pretty much be the same as proclaiming that Bruce Wayne's balaclava look before he designed the Bat-Suit was the superior costume - it just doesn't make sense.

The red suit is iconic for a reason, and it's why it's here to stay.
