10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About Green Arrow

Another Arrow-ism to have somewhat altered perceptions of the DC mythos is that Oliver Queen has a sister called Thea. He doesn't.

Indeed, the character of Thea Dearden Queen is actually based on Mia Dearden - a character created during Kevin Smith's now revered run on the character. In the comics, Mia is rescued by a then newly revived Green Arrow from a child prostitute ring. She later moved in with Ollie and became romantically attached to Connor Hawke, although Ollie himself refused her constant petitions to be trained as his new sidekick.

Mia would eventually become the new Speedy, much like Thea did in the show, but with the added responsibility of a full Teen Titans membership. While TV's Dearden is totally innocuous, it's important to remember that the only family ties the real Oliver Queen has have been all but severed.
