10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About Spider-Man

9. Flash Thompson Was Always Peter's Bully

Ask even the most casual Spider-Man fan (hell, probably even the mum of a casual Spider-Man fan) and they could reel off everything you need to know about the web head's supporting cast. You've got MJ the love interest, Aunt May as Peter's only remaining family, Harry Osborn the best friend, and Flash Thompson the local bully.

Of course, all of these characters have changed and grown over the decades, but Flash in particular is often pigeonholed as simply being the meathead, the bully, the school jock vying for MJ's attention across comics, games, TV shows and countless movie reboots. He's far more than that, though, and actually one of the most diverse supporting players when it comes to how he's been used, with stories covering his drunk driving incidents and battle with alcoholism in general, to his stints as Agent Venom.

It's his relationship with Peter that's the most interesting, though. While he started out as a high-school bully, and his distaste for Peter did continue into college, the two eventually grew to find some common ground, and even became best friends. Now the two have been through thick and thin, and Flash was even the best man at Pete's wedding.
