10 Things Everyone Gets Wrong About Wolverine
1. His Name Is Logan
Everybody knows Wolverine as Logan, even Wolverine himself. But the funny thing is that he never actually decided on that name officially. It just stuck.
His original name, the one he was born with, was James Howlett, which marked him the illegitimate son of a rich family in Canada back in the 1800s. He used the name Logan, based on his biological father Thomas Logan, when he and his mother went into hiding - and it was the name many of the people he met knew him by.
After he lost his memory, the fact that everybody knew him by Logan, and not James, meant that the name would stick, becoming more significant to him than his original nom de guerre ever was.
Though he still does use the name Howlett on occasion, the character is as much associated with the name Logan as Wolverine, especially with the latest and last film leaving a lasting impression with his name on the forefront. Few will ever remember James Howlett, but everybody remembers Logan, even now, long after he tore his way into collective consciousness of the iconic pages of Marvel's comics.
