10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Black Panther

8. Ultimate Black Panther Was Completely Wasted

Ultimates 3 is an abominable story from start to finish. Every character acts like an idiot. The story makes no sense. Also, the creative team decided to make Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch an incestuous couple (which their teammates were surprisingly okay with).

There are so many things wrong with this plot, it's easy to forget how pointless Black Panther is. Because this was BP's debut in the Ultimate series, T'Challa should've played a defining role.

But when Panther removes his mask during the climax, it's revealed that it was Captain America all along! Although we were hoping to see T'Challa in action in this storyline, this moment made readers realise he was never in the story to begin with.

What's more bizarre is Steve Rogers carries on with the mission immediately after this unveiling, refusing to tell his teammates why he was impersonating T'Challa.

To learn the truth about Cap's deception, you needed to read Ultimate Captain America Annual #1, which was released after Ultimates 3. But unless you knew you were supposed to read this issue, you would be left scratching your head, wondering what the hell Steve Rogers was playing at.
