Most diehard Batman fans will tell you the Joker isnt actually the most prominent villain in the Dark Knights storied history; that honour belongs to none other than sole creator Bob Kane. Kane certainly planted the first seed, but apparently the man responsible for much of its germination was Bill Finger. After being shown Kanes first sketches, Fingers influence was immediately apparent in his suggestions that the colour scheme be altered, that Batman should wear a cowl instead of a mask and that his cape should be scalloped so that it resembled wings. And thats just the beginning. Finger penned most of the early stories, came up with the name Bruce Wayne as well as the back-story of his parents murders, coined the name Gotham for Batmans hometown, conceived that the character should be a detective with no superpowers, and had a hand in the creation of such indispensible characters as Robin, Commissioner Gordon, Catwoman and the Joker. All of which makes Bob Kanes long-time accreditation as Batmans sole creator ring false. It should also be noted that several other writers and artists were also hugely influential Jerry Robinson, Gardner Fox and Sheldon Moldoff, in particular but Finger never lived to see his contributions properly acknowledged. Years after his death, Kane commented: He was an unsung hero I often tell my wife, if I could go back fifteen years, before he died, I would like to say Ill put your name on it now. You deserve it.
I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
