10 Things You Didn't Know About Batman

5. Guns Don€™t Kill People, Batman Does €“ Sometimes With Guns

As you all know, what separates Batman from the criminal element he faces off against on a nightly basis is the empathy that prevents him from being their executioner. And he doesn€™t use guns. Both of which may be true now, but by no means was this always the case. In the course of seven-and-a-half decades, Batman has actually killed on many occasions €“ in fact, he€™s something of an expert, and some of the chilling methods seen in the comic books over the years beggar belief. In addition to crushing several criminals to death by way of junkyard compactors and toppling giant statues on their heads, Batman has impaled his enemies, hanged them, broken their necks and burned them to death, and that€™s not even counting the numerous occasions when he could have saved people who would otherwise die but chooses not to. Which also happens in several movies. What€™s more, in the early days Batman routinely carried guns and also shot several ne€™er-do-wells to death. Granted, a lot of these deaths and gunplay happened early doors or in the Frank Miller comics and, strictly speaking, are regarded by some fanboys as non-canon, plus some of the characters he essentially murdered have since been retconned back into existence. Still, for a guy who doesn€™t kill, Bats has a lot of blood on his gauntlets.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
