2. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Once Starred In A Newspaper Comic Strip
Most fans know that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles originated in comic books, but did you know that they also starred in their very own comic strip? If you were a fan of the TMNT who visited the official website around the turn of the century, then this one may not come as much of a surprise to you. However, prior to that, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles strip ran in newspapers during the height of their initial popularity and beyond, from December 1990 until January 1997, with different creators from then-owner Mirage Studios putting in time on the five-day-a-week strip (weekends featured fan art, games, and the like). Unlike some other entries on this list, the action component was actually toned down a bit in favor of a more humorous approach to the Turtles and company.
