Stan Lee is a Marvel legend and arguably the most famous man to have ever worked in the comic book industry. In spite of the fact that he has stepped down from his role as president of Marvel Comics (he is 92, after all), he is still heavily involved in the industry and famously appears in cameo form in all movies based on Marvel characters (including the Fantastic Four movies, of course). However, life could have been very different for him if it wasn't for the Fantastic Four. Lee was ready to leave the comic book industry completely prior to what was an unexpected level of success for the team. The positive response to the quartet persuaded him to stay on and he started to print the fan mail they would receive in their comics - starting as early as issue #3. He was also so buoyed by the success that he started to add the slogan "The Greatest Comics Magazine in the World" to the covers (changed one issue later to "The World's Greatest Comic Magazine" - a slogan that still exists on Fantastic Four comics today). Had he not stayed on, the industry could have been very different and the Fantastic Four than, therefore, be held indirectly responsible for countless Lee creations that have appeared since. So there you have it - ten things you didnt know about the Fantastic Four. Did you enjoy this article? Did you learn anything new about the Fantastic Four?
