10 Things You Didn't Know About The Fantastic Four

4. The Thing Met Fred Flintstone & Barney Rubble

Well... he kind of did, because in 1979 a thirteen episode animated show aired on NBC called "Fred and Barney Meet The Thing". In spite of the title, it was actually split into two separate shows - The New Fred and Barney Show (a revival of The Flintstones) and The Thing (based very loosely on the Marvel Comics superhero) - and the two different cartoons never actually crossed over at all. That said, the three characters did "meet" in the intro and in various short segments between the cartoons. The crossover was made possible because of the fact that Marvel owned various Hanna Barbera properties at the time and was actually publishing Flintstones comics.
