10 Times Batman Was Forced To Kill

10. Squashing A Load Of People In Junkyards

See, the reason it was "sometimes not-so-forced" is because a lot of the times Batman has just thrown caution to the wind and straight-up murdered somebody, he wasn't in a particularly tricky situation. It wasn't like the controversial end to the Man Of Steel where Superman was forced between killing Kryptonian villain Zod or letting the bad guy laser beam a family into dust, no; a lot of the time, Batman just seems to kill people for the hell of it. That seems to be how it goes all the time he's killed people in scrapyards. Why exactly that particular venue has been the location of so much bloodshed in Gotham City is unknown, but there's a good half dozen examples of the Dark Knight doing some dirty business there. In 1988's Batman #425 he topples a stack of broken-down cars on top of a drug dealer, but the far more egregious example lies in Detective Comics #613 from a couple of years later, where our "hero" chucks a couple of warring mobsters into a trash compactor. To be fair, he does seem a little cut up about committing murder. Until the next issue began and everybody forgot about it, anyway.
