10 Times Batman Got It Wrong

7. Torture

Anyone who’s ever been punched in the face knows just what an eye watering experience it is. Now imagine being punched and kicked repeatedly, from what seems like every direction, by someone wearing what are essentially knuckle-dusters and very heavy boots.

As you lay on the floor, thankful that it’s over, a dark shadow leans over your aching form. Picking you up with ease he slams you into something very hard, robbing you of the remainder of your breath and making your head buzz, flash and spin. Then he growls, “Tell me!”.

Well, that’d definitely be enough to make anyone give up any and all information they had; and after popping some painkillers, they'd likely book themselves a train ticket right out of Gotham. We like to think this is the fate of many a goon that has crossed paths with The Batman.

However, sometimes villains do something to really push our Bruce over the edge. When this happens, we see him unleash levels of pain that make us wince and wonder if the poor villain really deserves what they’re getting. A toe-to-toe fight is one thing, but when someone’s lying on the ground defeated, is it really right to keep kicking?

One particularly poignant example of this was brought to us by a team that included the creative visionary that is David Finch and came in 2011’s “Batman: The Dark Knight” Vol. 1. Efforts to locate his childhood friend, Dawn Golden, led our Caped Crusader to one of his long-time nemeses Penguin. But things got away from the regular when during questioning Batman proceeds to break Penguin’s limbs one by one. We along with Alfred had our hands over our mouths, knowing that our Bats had gone too far on this one.

Hello. I'm a fellow human mammal who enjoys human things, like consumming nourishment and entertainment. I feed a small black feline who broke into my house and won't leave, she sometimes responds to Ninja. You probably can't even tell how uncomfortable I am talking about myself. Enjoy your day.
