10 Times Comics Changed Because Of The Fans

6. Marvel Vs DC: You Decide!

The comic book event of the century, literally decades in the making, and in absolutely no way an attempt to give the flagging comics market (and a bankrupt Marvel) a much-needed shot in the arm, DC Vs Marvel wound up being...well, it's not particularly bad, but it's not great either. If you ever wanted to see Hulk fight Superman, Thor fight Shazam etc, that's all on the table. Go nuts! The groundbreaking miniseries €“ published by both DC and Marvel in collaboration €“ was never anything but fan service, the official, canon version of those arguments about which fictional titan would win in a fight that have been going on since the dawn of time. Since the whole thing was geared to giving the readers what they wanted, the publishers decided to let fans decide who did win each fight. Well, there were six €œpreliminary€ battles, but the other five were all decided by fan votes. Those included such epic battles as Captain America vs Batman, Storm vs Wonder Woman and, ahem, Spider-Man vs Superboy. The thing was basically written by fans.
