4. The Identity Of Hush - Batman: Hush/Heart Of Hush
As much as the mystery of Hush is likely known to most Bat-fans now - especially anyone who played through the side missions in Arkham City - at the time, it was one of the most exciting mysteries in DC.
This was only made more solid by just how many false herrings the plot had. Hush appeared to be everyone from Clayface to his former sidekick Jason Todd, meaning the mystery of his true identity increased over time, instead of becoming increasingly more obvious.
Hush would eventually be revealed to be none other than Bruce's former best friend Thomas Elliot, a famous surgeon who would later have his face transformed into Wayne's just to make things a little more complicated. While fans tend to either love it or hate it, there's one thing for sure - few other stories pull the wool over our eyes quite so many times.
