10 Times Iron Man Outsmarted Everyone

While Civil War shows off both Iron Man and Captain America's respective smarts - with Cap managing to escape capture while wearing a bright blue suit, and with Tony managing a surprisingly effective attempt at warding off half of Earth's most powerful heroes in his fights against the rebellion.

Of all these shared clever moments, the most effective is actually one of the most understated - in Tony building a new stealth suit for Spider-Man, but not for himself.

Although it isn't initially obvious, it does appear as though this new suit has been done for some transparent tactical reasons - with Iron Man being aware that he is the prime target for Captain America to go after, and so placing more battle power on the person who can provide a more effective surprise attack. Though Spider-Man does later turn on Stark, this fight proves that Iron Man is always thinking four steps ahead, even if he isn't always anticipating his allies' betrayals.
