10 Times The Avengers Ruined Tony Stark's Life

All in all, the Avengers Disassembled storyline is a bad time for pretty much everyone in the Avengers - with the main team suffering the most. Of all of this assorted misery, Iron Man maybe gets off the worst, as the villainous Scarlet Witch uses her powers to make it appear as though Tony is drunk beyond belief during a vitally important speech he has to give at the U.N. It ends in total disaster, and sees him both embarrass himself and lose his job as the American Secretary of Defense.

When Tony returns to the Avengers to share with them the fact that there's clearly someone targeting them - as in this time the Avengers Mansion has also been destroyed - he's met with Hank Pym screaming at him, berating him for being drunk at the event.

When Tony goes to defend himself in a completely coherent and sober manner, both Hawkeye and Ant-Man rip into him, telling him they don't believe him and that he's basically the worst person ever, which understandably breaks the heart of the still-reformed alcoholic.

The best part? Despite completely trusting Iron Man, Captain America and the Falcon don't tell Hank to calm down - or that calling someone a 'wobbly alcoholic' is a pretty low blow.
