When the Joker supposedly kills Batman, Ra's Al Ghul rounded up the supervillains of Gotham and had them determine the green-haired maniac's testimony in a court case.

While on trial, the Ace of Knaves told the DA-turned-supervillain, Two-Face, how he slaughtered the Caped Crusader the other night while robbing a fur company. The Joker then shows pictures of the dead vigilante unmasked, validating his claim. Two-Face then orders for a recess so the court can assess whether Joker's evidence has been falsified.

Little does the Harlequin of Hate know that the person he murdered was Jerry Randall, a bookstore owner who liked to dress up as the Dark Knight and reenact his most famous cases.

The Joker also didn't realise that the "Two-Face" at the trial was actually Bruce Wayne hiding in plain sight. Using the Joker's own testimony against him, Batman has his arch-nemesis arrested for the murder of Jerry Randall.

The Joker doesn't realise how Batman managed to duped him until he arrives at Arkham Asylum and sees the real Two-Face incarcerated there, proving he was never there in the first place.
