10 Times The Joker Was Genuinely Hilarious
9. Joker's Nemesis Is Revealed - Batman: The Animated Series
Throughout the 1980s, it was impossible for Mark Hamill to be associated with anything except as the lead role in the original Star Wars trilogy. But when he was cast as the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, he created one of the best and funniest incarnations of the maniacal clown fans had ever seen.
Throughout the show, the Joker has dozens of hilarious lines. When Two-Face asks him to look him in the face, he smugly retorts with, "Which one?" After watching a mock-funeral for Batman, the Joker gleefully shouts, "Well, that was fun! Who's up for Chinese?"
But one moment that stands out is when the IRS informs him that he owes $137 million in taxes. When the Joker learns he may go to jail for tax evasion, he hysterically scrambles around his hideout, stuffing cash into money bags. He then says one of the best lines in the series, "I'm crazy enough to take on Batman. But the IRS? No thank you!"
After seeing DC's craziest villain laugh in the face of death umpteen times, it's funny to see him genuinely terrified of the tax man.
