What happens to the world when its biggest superhero becomes its biggest villain? That was a question that has been pondered by comic fans for decades, and the Joker finally gave us an answer.

In an epic comic series created as a prequel for the popular fighting game, fans saw the true horror of the Joker impacting the lives of the DC universe forever.

In the Injustice Universe, Joker sprayed Superman with a specialised fear toxin that tricked him into killing a pregnant Lois Lane, who he thought was Doomsday.

Lois was also fitted with a deadman trigger that activated a nuclear bomb in Metropolis, killing millions. The sheer insanity and violence of the Joker's plan drove Superman to punch the Joker in the chest and rip out his heart.

The Joker had done what few could believe possible, and turned the most perfect superhero into an insane mass-murdering dictator.

The Joker made Batman's biggest fear into reality with a simple action that set the Man of Steel against the Dark Knight for a five year-long war for the leadership of Earth.

During which dozens of heroes and villains, especially those closest to Batman, fought and died in gruelling battles to try and end the tyranny of an invincible supervillain who had the respect and fear of an entire universe.
