10 Times The Past Came Back To Haunt Batman

6. Jacob Kane - Detective Comics #934

Batman v Red Hood
DC Comics

During the Rise of the Batmen story arc, Batman stumbled upon a batarang that wasn't his own. Upon investigation, he learned of a secret group called The Colony who had modelled their soldiers on Batman.

Each member of The Colony is equipped with duplicates of the Dark Knight's weapons and armour. Although no soldier in The Colony is as efficient at fighting as Batman, battling against 50 Batmen simultaneously is nearly impossible for any superhero.

But what makes The Colony more dangerous is its creator. The army was formed by Batwoman's father and Bruce Wayne's uncle, Jacob Kane. Because Kane didn't approve of his sister, Martha, marrying Thomas Wayne, Bruce Wayne assumed he was no longer a part of his life.

Never in a million years could he have foreseen Kane becoming his enemy. Worse still, Kane knows Batman is Bruce Wayne, meaning he can attack him in his own home whenever he wishes.
