10 Unbelievable Times Comic Book Villains Were Unmasked

Seeing the Taskmaster unmasked is less unbelievable in the sense it was in an unusual manner or he had a surprising 'real' face under the mask, but in the sense that we have seen an adult Taskmaster without his mask precisely once.

While this is in no small part down to the fact that Taskmaster's fighting prowess means there was no chance of him being unmasked, this can be placed largely down t the fact that, for a long time, Taskmaster's skeletal mask was considered his actual face - which naturally means it wasn't coming off.

Writers often fluctuate on whether this is the case - with the exception of Daredevil #293, wherein Daredevil visits a wounded Taskmaster in hospital, and we are treated to the questionable reward of a full look at Taskmaster's face. It's unlikely to feel like a big moment out of context, but when you're aware it's the only time such an event occurs, you can't but feel like it's just a little bit special.
