10 Villains Superman Has NEVER Defeated

Given that Nekron is literally Death provided a physical form, it would have been super disappointing if he were merely one of many villains added to the list of folks Superman defeated in a couple of swift punches.

As, in actuality, almost the exact opposite happens. Blackest Night sees Nekron turn the entire main roster of the Justice League into zombies with his Black Lantern rings, knocking Superman out of the fight before it could even really start.

Though he's eventually rescued by his fellow heroes and restored to the world of the living, you can't help but be aware that Nekron was on simply a whole level above the Man of Steel in terms of power.

But otherwise, we wouldn't have have seen everyone come together to fight him, the White Lanterns being (re)born, or the dramatic reunions that close the comic - so it was very much worth it to see Supes trounced.

Similarly, we also got to see zombie Superman because of Nekron, so we do all technically owe him one - well, unless you somehow saw him become the living dead in the much later DCeased first.
