10 Weird Marvel Villains You Won't Believe Exist

2. Mandrill

Master Pandemonium Baby Arms
Marvel Comics

When Jerome Beechman was still in his mother's womb, he was exposed to large quantities of radiation. Since this is comics and not the real world, he survived. However, he didn't come out of it as well as other characters have.

Despite having Caucasian parents, Jerome was born black and covered in tufts of hair. Growing up, he was constantly bullied for his appearance and, when he was just 10, his father abandoned him in the New Mexico desert.

Jerome survived by stealing and scavenging, but, after six years in the desert, his condition worsened until he resembled a mandrill. Because sometimes the universe makes things easy, he used that as his supervillain name.

Now, villains who look like animals are a dime a dozen so what makes Mandrill so special? It turned out that Jerome was also a mutant and could emit pheromones. This meant he could make women fall in love with him despite literally looking like an ape.

And it's not just the implication that's creepy. Mandrill has happily admitted to taking advantage of his slaves, marrying several of them and even forming a cult of followers.

He's one of Marvel's most disgustingly perverted villains and yet, for some reason, they still keep him around.
