When the mutant Legion travelled back in time to kill Magneto, he accidentally killed Charles Xavier instead and created a new timeline where Apocalypse ruled the Earth. This new reality was home to some pretty disgusting individuals.

While most of the characters in Age of Apoclypse were twisted versions of existing X-Men, Sugar Man was an all new creation. It's unclear if this weird troll monster thing is a mutant or a heavily altered human as next to nothing has been revealed about his backstory.

Sugar Man was a student of Mister Sinister who taught him all about genetic engineering. As the head of a slave camp in Seattle, he used some of the slaves as subjects in his own sick experiments.

A group of young mutants known as Generation Next infiltrated his camp to free Colossus' sister Ilyana Rasputin. When Sugar Man discovered them, he killed most of the group with his razor-sharp tongue before he was torn apart by Colossus.

However, it turned out Sugar Man was also able to alter his own body mass and shrank down small enough to hide in Colossus' shoe. During the final battle, he was sucked into the reality-altering M'Kraan Crystal and wound up in the main Marvel Universe, ready to continue his experiments.
