The Stalk basically exists in Saga to test if you're going to be able to deal with the absolutely madness that the series provides. Initially, you'd be easily convinced the story is somewhat tame, as it appears a conventional mix of fantasy and sci-fi with two fairly relatable romantically involved heroes.

Then a spider assassin shows up with her arachnid tiddies out and like seven guns, and suddenly you feel the intense urge to sit down for a minute and just think about where your life has gotten to, and for what purpose.

Later characters - including two women who are literally just heads and legs, and a dragon who we see doing a spot of auto-fellatio - eventually make The Stalk feel normal by proxy. However, this doesn't take away the fact that, when she does first appear, you will presume you have hallucinated the whole comic in the first place.
