10 Weirdest Parts Of Cosmic Marvel Comics

4. The Next Captain Marvel Being Part-Cockroach

In the interim between Mar-Vell€™s death and the eventual crowning of Carol Danvers as the new Captain Marvel, however, there was another who took the name for a time. Noh-Varr, better known as Marvel Boy, was introduced in the series of the same name by superstar writer Grant Morrison and artist JG Jones, later joining the Young Avengers. Following in the footsteps of the brave Kree warrior from which he took his name, the far younger Noh-Varr was a little more reckless, a little more prone to listening to sixties girl groups and their close harmonies, and was sent to Earth not as a spy this time but so he could kill Skrulls. Oh, and he€™s part-cockroach. He€™s a full-blooded Kree, but his DNA has been augmented with that of various insects, which means he has enhanced reflexes, speed and strength, is €œtriple-jointed€, can climb up most surfaces, can digest even rotting food (or any substance, actually), has paralysing saliva, and you don€™t want to know how he has sex.
