For a few decades, Superman and Lois Lane were on the verge of marriage. That is to say, Supes' writers loved to tease a potential wedding, only to strip it away at the last moment to keep the readers guessing for another half-century.

In Superman's Girlfriend, Lois Lane #15, the story hooked readers into thinking the Man of Steel was finally going to marry Lois. In the issue, he used a little known power: Super Weaving. Now, in the real world, a person has to learn how to weave — it is a skill, after all.

That's not how Superman does things, and instead of learning how to weave, he just went into the woods and figured it all out for himself. He created his own loom, made his own fabric, pattern, and thread, which ultimately resulted in a beautiful "wedding" gown for Lois.

It turns out that it wasn't even Superman, but a doppelgänger with the exact same powers as Supes, so the wedding was, of course, off. Now, some might say that this was simply his Super Speed at work, but speed doesn't mean you know how to build a loom, create fabric, or weave it into a dress.
