Reign in Hell was an unusual comic to feature Lobo - partially because it centres around Neron, a demon who has zero to do with Lobo, and partially because Lobo is canonically supposed to be banned from entering hell in the first place.

Yet Lobo appears, and true to his nature, begins an all-out slaughter, which includes beheading the sorceress Zatanna's beloved father. It's a brutal death, made all the more brutal by the fact it's actually his second death - with Zatara being in hell in the first place because he had been killed by a creature known as the 'Great Darkness'.

With this second death about to send Zatara to eternal torture, he begs his daughter to send him to the Abyss, effectively destroying his ability to be summoned or to exist anywhere else. Zatanna agrees, and then watches her father die for the third time in a row - which has got to be a pretty rough hattrick.
