10 Worst Things Nick Fury Has Ever Done

7. Resurrected Coulson Without His Consent - Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

As shown in Whedon's other big moneymaker, Buffy, bringing someone back from the dead without making 100% sure that the person you're bringing back is cool with it, can have some...nasty consequences.

When Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. started, the big question the show asked that it would build its first season around was, obviously, "how the hell is Coulson alive?" He was pretty soundly dead at the end of The Avengers' second act, and it's notoriously hard to bring someone back to life after they've been impaled by a spear whose blade is the width of a human arm.

Welp, it turns out that Fury had a project in place for years called project T.A.H.I.T.I. Whose goal was to implant human memories into robotic bodies. When Coulson died, Fury had the perfect test subject. To top it all off, since being forcibly brought back to life in an unfeeling robotic husk can be...spiritually taxing, to say the least, Fury just wiped Coulson's mind of the entire experience, leaving him convinced that he didn't even die in the first place.

Cold as ice, Fury. I mean, Coulson's awesome, so I'm not necessarily judging you THAT harshly for bringing him back but still, cold as ice.
