10 Worst Things The Green Lanterns Have Ever Done

1. Making Arisia Kill (And Letting Hal Jordan Date Her) - Various Comics

Green Lantern Is Bad
DC Comics

Arisia Rrab's life is the single most messed up thing the Green Lanterns are responsible for, without a shadow of a doubt.

At the time Arisia joins the Green Lanterns, she is thirteen years old - an age at which every sane person knows is far before she should be dating grown adults, or ripping out the insides of nightmarish hell-beasts. And yet the unfortunate Rrab ends up doing both, being convinced to brutally murder countless scores of aliens, despite it repeatedly being suggested that this forced murder spree is going to mess her up.

But Hal dating Arisia is significantly and substantially worse - because, like we said, she's a thirteen-year-old, and Hal is easily in his thirties. Sure, she's a thirteen-year-old who manages to use her Lantern ring to look like an adult - but inside that adult is still a thirteen-year-old, and Hal makes it profoundly clear every step of the way that she technically still is one.

And thus the real question emerges: why don't the Green Lanterns ever talk with him about how frankly disgusting this still is? You'd think they'd at least ask one of the human Lanterns if it's normal because of how much Hal tries to justify it, but instead everyone acts like it's super cool that he's dating a literal child.

Don't ask the Green Lanterns to protect against space predators, is all we're saying.
