The Justice League live and die by a solemn oath to follow a strict moral code, and never mistreat anyone, even supervillains, in the same way that those same supervillains constantly mistreat them. After all, that's what separates the good guys from the bad.

As we have learned from this list, they have broken that oath countless times over the years. However, this entry is a double whammy - the League gravely mistreat not only one of their greatest enemies, but one of their greatest allies and a literal founding member.

The magical Zatanna is recruited to brainwash the villainous Doctor Light, effectively rewiring his entire personality. This is obviously a big moral no-no, being the superhero equivalent of performing a lobotomy. At least, Batman thinks so, and firmly objects when he figured out what the League are planning.

Does his team listen to him and take his point into consideration? Of course not! They simply get Zatanna to brainwash Batman as well, so that he has no memory of the incident at all.

You know, it's probably this massive betrayal and complete lack of trust between the JLA and the Dark Knight that would lead him to make those secret murder plans in the first place. Think about that the next time you magically lobotomise someone, Justice League.
