6. He Was Brainwashed Into Killing Northstar
Once again Wolverine committed this terrible act while for Marvel's villains, which is something of a recurring theme for him.
While working for the newly allied Hydra and The Hand as their brainwashed operative, Wolverine showed up to attack the X-Men. He was ordered to target Kitty Pride to demonstrate his loyalty to his new masters, but she used her power to phase out of the way. Missing her, he managed to hit Northstar instead, who was standing just behind.
The heroes retaliated: Kitty Pride struck him in the head with a wooden post, breaking it against his skull; Cyclops unleashed a furious attack to little avail, and Logan finally received a forceful bash to the head from Captain America’s shield.
Ultimately Wolverine was captured and deprogrammed, and Northstar was resurrected as a new brainwashed operative in his place.
