7. Being Trapped In The Astral Plane
The Shadow King is a malevolent force that claims to be the pure embodiment of humanity's hatred. Since he doesn't have a physical body, this nebulous phantasm lives within The Astral Plane; an alternate dimension composed of non-corporeal entities. Because telepaths like Professor Charles Xavier use the Astral Plane to project their consciousness, The Shadow King has had many encounters with him.
His power may be mighty in the physical world but in The Astral Plane, he is almost omnipotent. If a psychic is unfortunate enough to stumble upon him while they are travelling through the ethereal realm, The Shadow King will trap their consciousness there for as long as he desires.
Because time works differently in this dimension, he can keep his victims there for eons while little time passes in the real world. Once, he tortured Wolverine in The Astral Plane for 20 years. During the Life of X saga, he trapped Professor X in his domain for over a millennium!!
What's worse is that while his prisoners are trapped in his psionic terrain, The Shadow King tends to use their physical bodies to commit atrocities upon the world while they are forced to watch helplessly.
