10 X-Men Villains With The Biggest Body Counts
1. The Brood
Eons ago, the Kree Empire captured dozens of hive-mind aliens, hoping to use them to wipe out their enemies, The Sh'iar. Believing The Brood had the most potential, the Kree spent eight million years turning these savages into a species capable of consuming entire galaxies.
Although most invaders wipe out their victims with bombs or guns, The Brood's strategy is far more disturbing. These insidious insects place eggs in viable hosts, allowing them to gestate. Once the embryo hatches, the host will be transformed into a Broodspawn. This process destroys the host’s mind, basically killing them.
Unfortunately, The Brood were so efficient at wiping out their prey, it wasn't long before they were beyond the Kree's control. Within 5,000 years, billions of these vile beasts had spread across every corner of the cosmos, consuming hundreds of worlds.
But because they were designed to eliminate the Sh'iar, The Brood's greatest desire is to destroy this galactic empire. Since the Sh'iar are allies with the X-Men, Professor X's students have tangled with The Brood over a dozen times. With a kill count that measures in the trillions, there's no question that The Brood are the most murderous creatures the X-Men have ever faced.
