11 Comic Book Characters Who Killed Their Loved Ones

7. Namor

Orion Final Crisis
Marvel Comics

More often than not, Namor can be found brooding away on his throne down at the bottom of the ocean. Well, either doing that or making admiring glances in the direction of Sue Storm.

While the Sub-Mariner may have made his affection for Sue well know over the years, Namor's other 'one true' is Marrina - a person who he has tragically had to kill more than once!

Easily the most hard-hitting of these deaths was the very first one. With Namor and Marrina married, an Alpha Flight crossover - with Alpha Flight a group that Marrina was previously a member of - saw the Queen of Atlantis undergo a transformation that turned her into a gnarly sea monster known as Leviathan.

Taking the Ebony Blade of the Black Knight, Namor was left with no option but to kill his wife in order to protect the lives of the Avengers and numerous innocent bystanders.

As previously mentioned, Marrina has resurfaced at several points over the years, with Norman Osborn even giving her a makeover as part of Osborn's rivalry with Namor and the X-Men. And each and every time that Marrina is resurrected, Namor is left with the emotional weight that comes with having to kill his bride yet again.
