11 Hotly Anticipated Comic Books Still To Come In 2019

1. Detective Comics #1000

War Of The Realms First Pages
DC Comics

For the past 80 years, Batman has been punching, kicking and batarang-ing(?) the bejesus out of villains of all shapes and sizes, so it's only fitting that Detective Comics #1000 sits at number one.

Though details are scarce to say the least, it seems that DC doesn't want to ruin it for anybody. The issue will also see the first appearance of the Arkham Knight in comic book continuity, and though it will be interesting to see where they're going to take this character seeing as how Jason Todd's already spoken for, it's the list of writers and artists that are due to work on the issue that makes the book unmissable.

Paul Dini, Brian Michael Bendis, Neal Adams, Alex Maleev, Becky Cloonan and Geoff Johns will be among a slew of authors that'll contribute to the anthology, and even though Jim Lee will provide the cover, there will be a load of variants handled by Steve Rude, Michael Cho, Jim Steranko, Bernie Wrightson, Frank Miller, Tim Sale, Jock, Greg Capullo and Bruce Timm.

Roll on March 27.
