11 Hotly Anticipated Comic Books Still To Come In 2019
3. Harley Quinn: Breaking Glass
Harley Quinn is currently one of DC's most important properties. She's in comic books, on merchandise, in live action and animated films. Face it, you slap Harley's face on anything these days and it will sell by the truckload, so it's not really that surprising to see that DC Ink will be having their own version of Quinn release later this year.
When Harley moves to Gotham to stay with her Grandma she finds out that she has passed on, but the manager of the building allows her to stay in the apartment. From here Harley will sign up to a local high school where, undoubtedly, there will be a lot of trying to adjust and fitting in to deal with, as well as Harley solving most of her problems with her trusty baseball bat.
Written by Mariko Tamaki (Skim) and illustrated by Steve Pugh (2000 AD), it may seem that DC is taking quite a risk by watering down Harley for a younger audience - and it's true that this could be a massive misstep - but if it's handled right, it could help bring a whole new generation of comic book fans through the door.
