11 Justice League Fates Worse Than Death

While the Injustice: Gods Among Us video games are phenomenal, there's so much more to the Injustice world than merely these two impressive fighting games.

Delving deeper into this universe, the Injustice comics are able to flesh out far more of this world than either game is capable of. As such, it adds several extra layers of story depth and characterisation, which in turn make the events of Injustice all the more powerful.

In issue #12 of the first run of Injustice books, there's an almighty moment of d**k measuring by Superman and Aquaman. With the Man of Steel in the formative stages of his tyrannical reign, the King of Atlantis boldly stands up to Supes and his followers, reminding Kal-El how the world as we know it is forever bordered by the waters that Aquaman controls.

Deciding to make an example of the Marine Marvel, Superman combines forces with Wonder Woman, Shazam and Hal Jordan to lift up the underwater city of Atlantis and dump it in the middle of the Sahara Desert. For Atlanteans, this is a fate far worse than death, for they'd suffer and slow and painful suffocation of sorts during any extensive time spent in such a warm locale.

Eventually, Aquaman would bow down to Superman here, with Atlantis then returned to the water.
