Hewson, 21, wore the costume and a mask and went into Atwood Xpress around 1:10 AM. He asked in a loud voice, "How much money you got?" The store clerk, Bob Patel, responded to this attempted robbery attempt by taking out a taser and trying to use it. Hewson fled about a block from the store, where an officer and sergeant found him. But Hewson, who frequently dressed as Spider-Man, had a clean criminal record and Patel was moved to drop charges, noting that Hewson had no weapon and had made no threat. Still, the state confiscated that suit as a mild slap on the wrist to Hewson.
