12 Spider-Man Questions That Always Confused You
8. Who Was Peter Parker's First Girlfriend?
Despite the fact Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson have been considered Parker's two main lovers in his life, neither one of them was his first love. The first woman he ever loved (and dated) was a secretary for The Daily Bugle called Betty Brant.
Even though some people may not recognise that name, Brant has appeared in five films. She was played by a pre-famed Elizabeth Banks in the Spider-Man trilogy and she is portrayed by Angourie Rice in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
She debuted in Amazing Spider-Man #4, three years before Gwen Stacy and MJ appeared on the scene. Parker was instantly won over by Brant after seeing her defy their boss, J. Jonah Jameson, as she grew tired of his slanted stories on Spider-Man. When Brant saw how caring Parker was to his Aunt May, they started dating shortly after. The pair didn't work out in the end and so, Brant dated Ned Leeds (just like in Spider-Man: Far From Home).
Some die-hard fans don't count Brant as Parker's first love, saying that she was his girlfriend and nothing more. However, Parker admitted in Amazing Spider-Man #142 that Brant was the first person he ever loved.
