Oh DC, how hard it is to merely forget about a time when you justified giving something its own series by merely put the word Super in front of it and giving it a cape. From that era of ridiculous Kryptonian knock-offs The Legion of Super-Pets was born. Featuring and I truly wish I was making this up Comet the Super-Horse, Streaky the Super-Cat, Krypto the Super-Dog and Beppo the Super-Monkey, The Legion of Super-Pets have been a staple of the DC Universe since 1962, with individual members debuting as far back as 1955. Clearly the result of DCs editorial staff running out of ideas, this team has actually been around longer than The X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four. But the knowledge that individual members out date seminal heroes like Spiderman and the Hulk by almost a decade is shockingly insane. Then again, half of DCs Universe at that point consisted of various Super-whatyamacallits, so I guess its justified. Thankfully Marvel never had any long-standing team-up fails like that in the ol MCU, right?
