15 Essential Tips For Surviving Comic Con 2014

14. Use Public Transport

Actually, before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let's talk how you'll actually get to the convention centre. Not how you get to San Diego, mind you - we mean how you get to there from your hotel. If you're lucky, you managed to swing accommodation that's just a few blocks away, and you can simply stroll to the fun. More than likely, though, you've been plonked somewhere on the other side of the city, and are wondering how the hell you're going to get there early, or at all. Well we can tell you right now: do not take your car. There is parking included in some ticket types, but you need to pre-order your place before you arrive, and there's a good chance they've already all been taken up. Any local parking will probably be full, too, and probably extortionately priced. Far smarter is to take advantage of the shuttle buses or just San Diego's regular public transport, as buying a travel pass for the weekend will be cheaper than a taxi, cheaper than parking, and better than walking several miles through a major metropolitan area. You're gonna be doing plenty of walking anyway. We'll get to that, though.
