Publication Date: 10 February, 1966

Cover Artist: Steve Ditko, Sam Rosen, Stan Goldberg

Of all the covers that show the webslinger in genuine peril, this one is arguably the most powerful. The cover for The Amazing Spider-Man #33, the drawing of which was spearheaded by the character's co-creator and Marvel Comics legend, Steve Ditko, shows Spidey being crushed by metal debris as water threatens to fill the room (which would ultimately inspire the climax of Spider-Man: Homecoming.)

This issue was the last in the If This Be My Destiny... story arc, hence the tagline "The Final Chapter" on the cover. However, since the imagery conveys that this might very well be Spider-Man's last stand, that line has a brilliantly subtle double meaning that no doubt made for a great hook.
