She might be a gag character, and while she couldn't destroy worlds or lift them up or change reality, she does have loads of squirrels and can talk to them in their own language and in English. For some reason that means she's so vastly powerful that she's beaten Thanos.

Obviously she has more to her than squirrels, nut sacks and buck teeth - she's actually a more proficient combatant than Wolverine (which in itself is insane), and she's also soundly beaten other uber-powerful villains on the way to establishing herself as an improbable force for good. That includes MODOK, Thanos and Galactus (though she managed that by making friends with him).

But she's a squirrel girl, with basically no powers - her feats are impossible and ludicrous and she needs to be stopped lest she becomes a sort of skeleton key to beating any and every villain every imagined for lols.
