There's a reason conspiracy theorists latch onto the September 11th terrorists attacks so vehemently, besides crummy YouTube documentaries and untested knowledge of architecture: because there's so many examples in popular culture of the World Trade Centre being destroyed. Not only did the X-Files and Simpsons seem to have the inside track, but also like a dozen comic books that have been published since 1980. Simon Furman supposedly predicted the attacks with a 1991 Transformers comic where Rodimus Prime is suspended between the decimated skyscrapers, an issue of X-Men from the eighties includes a time-traveller from the 21st century who remembers the ruined towers amongst other disasters, and - once again - there's an issue of Superman that came out on September 12th, 2001, where LexCorp's twin towers in Metropolis - DC's New York stand-in - have come under attack. Needless to say, that issue was quickly recalled too.
